A G R E E M E N T

 

BETWEEN THE GOVERNMENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF ARMENIA AND THE GOVERNMENT OF MONGOLIA ON THE EXEMPTION OF VISA REQUIREMENTS FOR HOLDERS OF DIPLOMATIC AND OFFICIAL PASSPORTS

 

The Government of the Republic of Armenia and the Government of Mongolia, hereinafter referred to as the “Contracting Parties”,

Being guided by the desire to develop further friendly relation between the two States,

Desiring to promote, facilitate and encourage exchange of visits of officials of the Contracting Parties by the exemption of visa requirements for holders of their valid diplomatic and official passports;

Have agreed as follows:

 

Article 1

 

Nationals of the State of either Contracting Party holding valid diplomatic and official passports shall be exempted from visa requirements for entry into, stay in, exit from or transit through the territory of the State of other Contracting Party as the case maybe, for a period not exceeding thirty (30) days from the date of their entry.

 

Article 2

 

Nationals of the State of either Contracting Party holding valid diplomatic and official passports, who wish to stay more than thirty (30) days in the territory of the State of other Contracting Party, shall obtain visa in advance.

 

Article 3

 

Nationals of the State of either Contracting Party holding valid diplomatic and official passports shall enter into, exit from or transit through border checkpoints open to international travelers of the State of the other Contracting Party and follow all necessary formalities in accordance with the immigration laws and regulations of the State of that Contracting Party.

 

Article 4

 

Nationals of the State of either Contracting Party holding valid diplomatic and official passports shall observe the laws and regulations of the State of other Contacting Party during their stay in the territory of the State of that Contracting Party.

 

Article 5

 

This Agreement does not restrict the right of the competent authorities of either Contracting Party to prohibit diplomatic and official passport holders of the other Contracting Party who are considered undesirable from entering into or shorten or terminate their stay in the territory of its State.

 

Article 6

 

Each Contracting Party may, for reason of ensuring national security, public order or public health, suspend this Agreement, either in whole or in part. The introduction and termination of such suspension shall be promptly notified in advance to the other Contracting Party through diplomatic channels.

 

Article 7

 

The Contracting Parties shall exchange through diplomatic channels, not later than thirty (30) days from the date of signing of this Agreement, the samples of their diplomatic and official passports.

The Contracting Parties shall inform each other of their introduction of new diplomatic and official passports or documents or of modifications to existing diplomatic and official passports or documents, and shall transmit through diplomatic channels samples of the new or modified diplomatic and official passports or documents at least thirty (30) days prior to the introduction or validity of any modification.

 

Article 8

 

Any dispute arising out of the implementation or application of this Agreement shall be settled amicably by consultation between the Contracting Parties through diplomatic channels.

 

Article 9

 

 This Agreement may be amended in writing by the mutual consent of the Contracting Parties. Any such amendment shall be done in separate protocol, which shall form an integral part of this Agreement and shall come into effect in accordance with the procedures set forth in Article 10.

 

Article 10

 

This Agreement shall enter into force thirty (30) days from the date of the receipt of the last written notification by which the Contracting Parties notify each other, through diplomatic channels, of completion of their internal legal procedures required for entry into force of this Agreement.

This Agreement shall remain in force for an indefinite period of time unless it is terminated by either Contracting Party upon a six (6) month prior written notice given to the other Contracting Party through diplomatic channels.

 

Done in New York on 28 September 2018 in two original copies, each in Armenian, Mongolian and English languages, all texts being equally authentic. In case of divergences in interpretation, the English text shall prevail.

 

The Agreement has entered into force on 2 June 2019
